Get ready to hit the sand this summer! Decatur County Parks & Recreation is proud to partner with Tree City Brew to offer a fun and competitive 16+ Coed Sand Volleyball Quads League. Gather your team of four and enjoy exciting weekly matches in a great outdoor atmosphere this summer.

To help create balanced competition and an enjoyable experience for all skill levels, teams will register for either the A Division or B Division. Please indicate your preferred division during registration.

A Division: Competitive / experienced teams with standard overhand serving and advanced play.
B Division: Recreational / beginner-friendly division; ideal for newer teams or those looking for a more casual experience.

Whether you're playing to win or just looking for a fun way to stay active with friends, this league offers something for everyone.

Sand Volleyball Rules and Regulations:
First and foremost, these leagues are here to bring out community together to have fun and enjoy the game of volleyball. Confrontational and aggressive behavior will not be tolerated. If there are any issues, replay the point or notify a staff member. Remember, you are here to have fun!
Basic Game Rules
• Matches are win 2 sets to 21, win by 2, cap at 30. Third set to 15, win by 2, cap at 21
• One 30 second time out per game
• No unsportsmanlike conduct
• No intentionally delaying the game
• Each team will be allowed a 5-minute warmup starting when the court becomes available, or 5 minutes before game time, whichever is later
• You may go under the center line of the court as long as it doesn’t interfere with the play
• Ball is not playable if it goes to the opposing court, into retaining nets, or off the sand
Serving
• Server only gets one attempt to complete serve
• You can not block or attack the serve
• Teams with rock, paper, scissors for the first set serve, opposite team gets the first serve of the second set
• In Coed 4s, the serve rotation must go girl, boy, girl, boy
• In Coed 2s, males must serve to the half of the court with the other male. One redo is permitted per serve if the ball lands on the incorrect side. This does no include balls that land out
Other Game Rules
• Max 3 touches
• If any part of the ball is on the line, it is in
• Touching the net outside the antennas is legal
• Double contact is allowed on the first ball as long as it is one continuous motion
• You can step on the center line. A center line violation occurs when any body part is entirely over the line or when the player interferes with the opposing team, or the opposing teams play. If your foot or hand are above the line, but directly above the line, it is not a violation
• A player may use any body part to play a ball provided it is not a violation
• A player may not enter another court to play a ball at any time, the ball is out of bounds and unplayable
• Hair may contact the net however a jersey or loose clothing may not
• If players make a simultaneous contact, either player may play the ball next.
Rotation
• Coed team must alternate male and female on the court and in their serve rotation
• Teams should rotate if they side out on their opponents serve
Blocking
• Coed may not bring both males in the front row to block.
Cancelation and Others
• For cancellations due to weather, the captain of teams will be contacted, and also it will be posted on our social media
• In the event one team shows up and the other doesn’t, the no show team will receive a loss

• Any player taking the court is deemed to have assumed all risk of injury from playing or watching matches.
Final Word
There will be ZERO toleration of arguing with the refs. Players on the court need to be honest with line calls and touches. If you do not agree with a call replay the point or find a staff member running the courts. The ref has the final say… anything more and you may be asked to leave. Offensive conduct: Players must NOT use defamatory or insulting words or gestures including any action expressing contempt. Aggression: Players must NOT engage in an actual physical attack or aggressive or threatening behavior (IMMEDIATE REMOVAL FROM COURT, REFS PLEASE CONTACT MANAGER).
First Offence- Verbal Warning
Second Offence- Removal from court
